In addition to having completed the prestigious Company Directors Course and being a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), I have held a number of senior leadership roles throughout my career.

This has taught me the importance of structures, transparency and accountability while also keeping an open mind about how the world is changing around us. As individuals, teams and organisations, we need to constantly assess our position and adapt to reach our goals without losing sight of our vision and respecting our unchanging core values.

With a belief in diversity and questioning, communication is central in my role of leading teams to higher performance. Beyond this, I believe the leader is there to support and develop team and individual capabilities.

  • As Chairman of a major medical supply distributor, introduced regular one-on-one meetings with management and fortnightly information sessions for entire team to stabilise and grow the business

     

  • Initiated systems for accountability, communication and clarity of goals to increase team performance as General Manager of a timber construction product manufacturer

     

  • Created a management team as General Manager of equipment manufacturer, mentoring and developing team members to be able to attain ambitious profitability & market share goals

     

  • Facilitated a strategic process with team as Division Manager in Mexico to increase sales to match newly doubled capacity
